Airports
Washington, DC has three airport options to choose from. It's easy to Uber or taxi from all airports. See information below:
* Ronald Reagan Washington Airport (DCA) - We highly recommend flying into DCA because it's the closest airport to downtown DC.
* Dulles International Airport (IAD) - About a 35 minute drive to downtown DC.
* Baltimore/ Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) - This airport is located in Baltimore, MD and about an hour drive to downtown DC.

Our Favorite Restaurants & Bars
Martin's Tavern
Georgetown, DC
1264 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington, DC 20007
This is our favorite spot and the first restaurant we went to together in DC. It's where JFK proposed to Jackie O in booth #3 a.k.a. "The Proposal Booth".
Le Diplomate
Downtown DC
1601 14th St NW, Washington, DC 20009
A Sarah Kern favorite! We love this restaurant for brunch or dinner - both are delicious! Le Dip is less than 10 minutes away from the Welcome Party if you are looking for a dinner spot.
SHŌTŌ
Downtown DC
1100 15th St NW, Washington, DC 20005
A great vibe and amazing sushi - and just a couple blocks away from the hotels and the Welcome Party!
Old Ebbitt Grill
Downtown DC
675 15th St NW, Washington, DC 20005
The oldest saloon in DC - one of the most iconic restaurants in the city. A very classic, old-school DC feel. It's next to The White House and the hotels everyone will be staying at.
The Vue Rooftop
Located in Hotel Washington
515 15th St NW, Washington, DC 20004
On Hotel Washington's rooftop with a view that looks directly at The White House and the Washington Monument. It's a fun spot, we definitely recommend stopping by here for a drink (or two).
Off the Record
Located in the Hay-Adams Hotel
800 16th St NW, Washington, DC 20006
Off the Record is all about its dramatic red seating, old-school cocktails and political caricatures on the walls. It's know as Downtown DC's best place to be seen and not heard.
The Tombs
Georgetown, DC
1226 36th St NW, Washington, DC 20007
The Tombs is a neighborhood spot and next to Georgetown University's campus. The Kern/ Porter families went to this bar together when the Porters visited DC. It's a low-key, underground, traditional and old-school bar - definitely walk-in and grab a drink if you are in Georgetown.
Walk on The National Mall
The hotel blocks are seconds away from The White House and the monuments. Our favorite thing to do downtown is take a walk on The National Mall, starting at the Washington Monument and walking along the reflecting pool to the Lincoln Memorial. If you are looking for a little longer walk (about 2.5 miles), then start at the U.S. Capital (east side of the mall) and make your way to the Lincoln Memorial (west side of the mall).
M Street in Georgetown
M Street is an iconic stretch of boutiques, restaurants and bars. In Georgetown, we love to shop around, pop into The Tombs for a drink and walk to the Georgetown Waterfront. A few of our favorite lunch spots in Georgetown are: Martin's Tavern, Peacock Cafe, Nick's Riverside Grill and Clyde's of Georgetown.
Museums in Washington, DC
